In my everlasting quest to find the magic recipe that will create that life of complete wellness and balance I’ve come across many different strategies and approaches. Many. Let’s just say there’s a little something for everyone, and I’m totally cool with that.
I’ve tried some of the…Continue

Things are a lot different this time around than they were when I was carrying the Munchkin. I don't have half as much time to lounge around and do nothing. I haven't decided if this is a blessing or a curse. Most likely it is both.
I'm starting to make lists for the Belly Munchkin's arrival. Whether I'll actually ever manage to check anything off those lists is yet to be seen.
I have however, been able to squeeze some time in for weekly yoga. Not as much as I managed before I…Continue

I’ve been talking about becoming healthier over the past 2 years, then when I got pregnant with Little Man that mindset for no other reason than just pure laziness went out the door. I gained over 40 lbs and no matter how much I wish I could say it just fell off after birth. I can’t, only about 10 of it came off. It was because I didn’t have plan, goals, plus I still wasn’t doing…Continue
Last week I had an extraordinary conversation with Tanya Geisler on my radio show on Transformation Talk Radio, and I want to share a powerful insight.
Her mom's mantra was: "Don't postpone your joy!"
To me it sounded like…Continue

Over ten years ago I read Sacred Contracts by Caroline Myss, a book about using archetypes to understand your purpose in life. I immediately fell in love with exploring who we are by understanding our archetypes. More than just Type A or B, more than “creative,” “gentle,” “aggressive,” “quiet,” or “shy,” Sacred Contracts taught me that I’m an Artist that must express herself creatively. I’m a Damsel often waiting for help to arrive. I’m a Martyr often sacrificing my…Continue

We all dream of doing something spectacular that impacts the world in a positive way or maybe even something subtle to leave our mark but most people won't even attempt that dream due to fear. I was one of those people. I dreamt of being many things due to my obsession with…Continue

"Hurry up!" Every morning, late. Nothing new, but this particular morning we were exceptionally late. Only one week beyond a long winter break. The children are still in vacation mode. Or maybe that's just our…Continue

Will I ever have a schedule that works that I can stick to?
Probably not, as things are always changing; the kids needs, my needs, our goals, etc. But I can keep trying, right?!…

I wrote in one of my last posts about wanting to be a better wife and mother. As a Christian, I am using the verses of Proverbs 31 from the Bible as a guide on my way.
It is my sincere hope and intention that people of other faiths or belief systems will feel welcome on the Back Porch at all times. I try to present my beliefs respectfully and hope that anyone reading my blog would feel free to express themselves (in a…

We all make them, and most of us end up failing but not me! I'm determined to do these goals. How am I different from any other person who makes goals and fails? Because I don't make unrealistic goals, I know that can be reached if I stick to them, and I will. So here is my list.
