Remember Cross Country USA and other old games?
For years I have been thinking about the games I used to play in elementary school. The games were grainy, and kind of slow...but that didn't matter because they were still so much fun. Then fast forward to today, I saw my brother in law watching a game on his Ipad and it wasn't until I saw a triangle appear on the screen that I realized he wasn't watching a game, he was playing a game. Technology has come so far! Our children…

Packing Lightly? What a laugh!
When you have a baby you need to bring all the things a baby would need with you. Bottles, nappies, change of clothes with many options depending on the weather, medicine, cream and the list continues. If you have more than one baby, which we did it does feel like you are packing to never to return to your house ever again, this of course is due to the large amount of stuff that is needed.
Upon talking with my cousin who has recently had twin boys last year she is dealing with the…

13 Signs that Your Toddler Is Ready to Start Potty Training
A few weeks ago, I decided that it was time to let my son pick out a potty seat. We choose to get a potty seat that easily fits on the regular toilet, so that I wouldn’t have to retrain him to use the big potty once he had potty training down. Besides that the daycare he attends also uses a potty seat…

I keep hearing how great sleep is. Some how though people seem to forget that I've been a mom for 15 years and out of those 15 years I think I've accumulated enough sleep to equal a quarter of that. Finding sleep with babies is an eluded mecca that I can only hope to one day find. I…

Mom’s How Old was Your Child When You Weaned Them From the Pacifier?
When I took my son to his 18 month old check up, my son was happily sucking on his pacifier when the doctor walked him. She took it out of his mouth so that she could look into his mouth and he kept telling her that he wanted he wanted his “paci” back. She told him that if he could ask for it,…

Facing Jason
My eyes find a small pile of Jason’s things I forgot when I gather his belongings together, which have now have found their way to the corner of my living room. What should I do with them? I guess I should return them. It’s time…time to get them off my floor, time to give them back to him, and yes, time to face him yet again. I feel my heart beat faster and my nerves tense as I drive to where he is staying. I don’t know why I seem nervous, maybe it’s because I have no idea what he will say…

No Backup No Job
I read with interest Clementine Ford's article "When paying for child care is women's work". In Ms Ford's article it shows that women don't work due to not earning any money and child care fees taking a big chunk of the women's wage, but why is it solely the responsibility of the women's wage to…
