I recently spent an afternoon with a good friend, who has a toddler. While we were talking about parenting she told me her son has started biting his baby brother. My friend said nothing she or her husband had tried is working. Her son bit another child at childcare this week for the first time
Biting is a behavior that many toddlers display at one time or another. It can be something that makes the adults feel frustrated and helpless. There is hope!
Whenever a child is…Continue

Many parents wonder when is the perfect time to transition their baby from their crib into a toddler bed or regular bed. As a mom, I can’t give you a perfect answer because each child is different and is ready to move into a regular bed at different ages. You know your child best and can gauge when you…Continue

We have struck out so many times when taking our guy…

If you follow me on Facebook you know I was a basket case on Christmas Eve because our health insurance decided Tiara didn’t need 4 pills of Vimpat each day, but only 2, so they denied the pre-authorization and I was unable to get her medicine. Why even have health insurance?
Vimpat is one of her 5 seizure medications. She needs her medicine…Continue

Hubby is a guy who usually wears a bald head and NEVER keeps hair on his baby face...he claims it itches, so when I saw the initial fur growing on his face, I was a little concerned. Was my man getting lazy? Ughhhh... Thank God, the answer to that was no. For the month of November, he has been growing a mustache, something…Continue

It is 2012 and you would have thought that the treatment of women would be the same as men, right? Well some stories in the news have surprised me and made me think we are not living in 2012 at all. Not sure what year we are in, but the view of women is that we are controlled by hormones, we obviously cannot make a decision that is not controlled by our menstrual cycle and of course we have powerful ways of not getting pregnant if we were ever raped – legitimate rape or not? How can rape…Continue

I have been pondering what type of person I was growing up and what type of person I am now. These questions have flooded my mind since I have expanded my Facebook connections to include some people I have grown up with.
I have always been fascinated by the people who have held onto the same group of friends through all the school years and well into their adult life. I have watched my own children navigate the world of growing up and the switches they have made in friendships as…Continue

Of course we do! We all do. It’s a basic fact of living within 50 yards of any other human being. And even if we were all hermits, we’d probably still find something to get mad at ourselves for.
So what do you do when you get mad with someone who matters in your life? Maybe it’s someone in your family or someone at work who you simply can’t…Continue

Do you ever question if you were supposed to be a mom ~ that perhaps you only became one because of a mistake or accident? I’m asking honestly, not just when you’re upset or angry at your kids and wonder why you ever gave them life to begin with…but overall. Do you think you’re not good enough to be a mommy? To be THEIR mommy? I used to question it when my older two kids were younger. I made so many mistakes at “mommyhood” that I thought they would be better off with another mother. …Continue
