Finding Enough Time in the Day
How do you find enough time in the day to get it all done? I feel like I never have enough time in the day. I always stretch Camryn out after changing her diaper but that's getting more and more difficult because she's on the move. I put a fanny pack on her so that she can do her Stem treatments and be on the move. But how do you get all the other stuff that the therapists want you to work on during the day done, while still enjoying your child and letting her explore? I want to do…

Routines: A must or a bust?
http://thebreezymama.com/baby-routines-a-must-or-a-bust/
Having two children myself, I can safely say that no two children are exactly alike. In fact, mine are about as opposite as can be. My daughter loved pacifiers and was addicted to hers until age 3; my son had used a pacifier about 5 times total his first couple of weeks after birth and decided it was just not his cup of tea. My daughter was a…

One of the best ways to develop relationships and build confidence is to have fun together as a family. I just discovered there is a month long celebration aimed at that very thing, strengthening families and building healthy, confident kids. National Family Month is exactly what it sounds like, a celebration of family. It runs annually from Mother's Day to Father's Day.
An easy way to have fun with your kids is to remember what you enjoyed when you were their age and then do it…

Need Advice
I don't know how many of you have experienced this but Camryn has started fighting therapy. Every time we go she starts crying during PT and OT. The therapists asked me to wait outside yesterday because she was so upset and kept trying to come get me to comfort her. It broke my heart listening to her cry from down the hallway. When I first started therapy I heard kids crying and I was so grateful Cam was so well behaved. But, she has become that kid. What are some tactics you use to make…

Love, crisps and toilet habits
I have been away from my children for a week visiting my mum in Cyprus. I have had a lovely break but was obviously very glad to see my own brood again.
Grumpy Toddler (who is almost five so I really will have to think of another name for him) greeted my entry through the front door…

Quiet: Monday Morning Musings V.7
Original Content from: Oh, Just stop already
Oh Monday Morning how you come way way too fast for me. Another week without the Old Man, more work, and no time for me to completely anything. But as I sit here typing this while waiting for the cloth diapers to finish their cycle I wonder...

Do you ever just have one of those days where you feel like your entire first year of your child's life has been nothing but getting her arm to move?! I'm definitely having one of those days today. I don't even think I've ever purchased a toy for Camryn without it being for some type of therapy. Even while we are feeding her I put it in front of her left hand so that she is enticed to use it. I hope during this second year I get a chance to enjoy Camryn a little more and not be totally…

Choices of the modern day Mom
As a woman and as a mother of daughters I am always very interested in these times we are living in today. A coworker of mine once told me they are calling this the century of the woman, and it very well may be with women like Hilary Clinton and Marissa Mayers leading the way for women in leadership roles in politics and business. But some criticize this change in women's role in society. Some see our shift as damaging to our society. That our first and primary concern should be raising our…

The 20-Minute Tantrum
You may have been wondering why the blogging has slowed down somewhat.
No, I didn't completely fall off the face of the earth...I'm still here and still blogging.
I've just been dealing with the ups and downs of having an almost 2-year old toddler. Crazy, crazy, crazy times. Most recently, it has been the major tantrums.
I'm nowhere near my breaking point or…

Letting Go
When I sent Jason the text saying, "Go out and live your life. I want you to be happy, even if it’s not with us. Go date and fall in love and have a great life. I relieve you of all responsibility and obligation with the baby. We will be fine. Take care," that was my way of letting go...of giving myself permission to let go.
It's so easy to hold on...hold on to the maybes (maybe it's not that bad, maybe it can still happen, maybe he wants to be a part of the baby, maybe he is just…

Parents/primary caregivers are the most important advocate for their children in all areas of their development, including social-emotional. May is Mental Health Awareness month. Children as young as newborns can have social-emotional issues. Research shows, behavior problems that surface in early childhood are the single best predictor for several long-term outcomes, such as adolescent delinquency, gang involvement, incarceration, substance abuse, divorce, unemployment (Center for…
