My baby will be four years old next month and I am still carrying what I call baby fat. Don't get me wrong, I am not officially overweight. It is just that my weight seems to accumulate in one place- my belly. Arrgh! This winter I am determined to get rid of the muffin. I am making a declaration. I am getting my skinny back!

When I was growing up my Papi would speak of Bretagne. He spent many holidays there with my grandmother and the region left an impression on him. My inheritance from him, and one I treasure, is a photograph he took of a dolmen in Carnac. It was a matter of time before I finally made it there.
My intention was to write an overview of the charms of Bretagne and the Loire-Atlantique, throw in a recap of an off the beaten path Parisian activity and that would be that for our France Family…Continue

The beautiful sea life lives among what is known as The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a vortex of debris in the center of the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre. It’s the largest oceanic garbage swirl spanning from California to Japan and runs 90 feet deep in some places. It’s estimated to be twice the size of Texas.
It’s disturbing that so much of our discarded…

Summer is in full swing and it's time to rock the boat! Boaters love this time of year. Daylight hours are longer, there's always a reason to get friends together and head out on your boat for a day of fun and
enjoyment. Don't forget the sunscreen, some good food, your fishing gear
and the music that makes you think of sun and fun. Lots of people like
to drop anchor and meet up with other boaters to swim,…

I was born and raised in San Diego, California. (Yes, pictures like this one and that one are from that bee-u-ti-ful city.) But, in addition to my dear and loving family and friends there, it’s the ocean that holds my heart. San Diego’s ocean simply beckons one to interact. And not just on…Continue
