The Next Best Thing to a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup
Having to eat dairy-free I have had to give up some of the things that I really love and one of those things are peanut butter cups. My husband really doesn't get into sweat things but every once in a while he would bring me one home, as well as one for him, as a surprise. Now I can't eat them and I will admit it is one of things that I miss the most.
So I figured if I can't have a Reese's peanut butter cup let me try to make the next best thing. Peanut butter chocolate…

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bats
Halloween is around the corner, all the stores are full of pumpkins, skeletons, witches, and bats which is what gave me the inspiration to make these chocolate bats. My daughter's birthday was last week and she wanted something with a Halloween theme for her birthday dinner. These simple peanut butter filled chocolate bats fit the request…

Food Allergies and IgE RAST Testing
If you suspect you or your child(ren) have one or more food allergies, an allergist may recommend a IgE RAST test to confirm whether the suspect symptoms are true food allergies.
If your allergist determines your suspect symptoms are a sign of a true food allergy, your allergist will decide…

Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie Recipe

I'm not a breakfast person. I generally hate eggs, and usually anything I eat early in the morning disagrees with my tummy. I have found, though, that smoothies work well for me in the morning. Really anytime. Plus they are quick and convenient and give me the energy I need to get from one task to the next. I wanted to share with you my Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie recipe made with almond milk, instead of dairy milk, which is much easier on me. At 294…

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
After Ricky and I moved in together last summer, I started to become much more domestic. Once I was pregnant, that increased ten fold. Not that I didn’t cook and clean before, because I did. I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I do now. Quite frankly, I sometimes creep myself out by how good at this whole housewife thing I’ve become...Continue reading at The Mommyhood Project

Fifty Shades of Nutella
I’m standing at the kitchen counter about to start dinner. I open the cabinet to round up the ingredients for this evening’s meal and I see it, that seemingly innocent white-lidded jar, beckoning my attention. I look away and continue gathering my supplies, but its call is too great to ignore. I remove the Nutella from the cabinet and slowly…

Peanut Butter Alternatives
From my blog, Chasing the Wolf Pack.
When I was first diagnosed with my peanut allergy, not many peanut butter alternatives were on the market. Peanut butter was never my favorite food, so it wasn't a big deal. But peanut butter is in a lot of snack foods that I missed, so when alternatives became commonly available, we started looking into them. Peanut butter alternatives have become much more…

Cold Weather on the Farm and in the Kitchen
I have now officially started feeding my goats in the evening. For the past two days, I have been bombarded by guineas and chickens when I feed them in the morning. It’s ridiculous, aren’t they supposed to be
afraid of me? Therefore, I am changing
it up. The milk goats will be fed in the
evening when the birds go to roost, and I will continue to throw their corn out
in the…

Allergy Free Kitchen Chicken
I am so much more comfortable in my kitchen. Those first few months were really tough! It’s great to make the leap and make your
kitchen an allergy free kitchen; catered to your food allergies. The only food with allergies are the few
goodies my son really enjoys. The rest
of the time, the only ingredients I have to choose from are those the entire
family can enjoy. It’s wonderful…

Snacks through the Holidays
‘Tis the season for the busy holidays! We always have something going on, whether we are participating in holiday events
around town, school activities, or family visiting for the holidays. As a parent, I have to make sure I keep quick
snacks on hand that are flexible and easy to keep handy. One item I always keep on hand is
granola. I keep it in a huge glass jar
in the kitchen,…
