Play Date Cards - Download the Template
Have you been in the situation where you would like to organise a play date and don't have your details handy to give to the other parent? Well this has happened to me many times. The girls due to pre-school desperately want to visit other kids houses for a play date and I need to try and set it up with the other child's parent/parents. Hi!
I've been meaning to do a post for a while now about fun things to do with a toddler. So I'm finally getting around to it today.
I love doing fun things with the Love Nugget. I am always looking for new ideas and things to keep him busy and help him learn. Behold Pinterest and the never ending ideas that you can find browsing the wonderful site. Luckily I can combine ideas and things I remember from when I was a preschool teacher with fun stuff I find on Pinterest. …

Ever since we moved into our new neighborhood I've been keeping an eye out for another little girl my daughter's age. I plan to live in this house for awhile and one of my mini dreams for Izzy to grow up with her own BFF. I met a grandmother and granddaughter walking the neighborhood last week that I'm hoping she could become friends with Izzy. It turns out that this little girl has the same name except for an added "A" at the end and has the same birth month.…

Making Play Dough
It has been unbearably hot and rainy around here which leads to this lady making too many trips to Target, and having too many dollar store adventures! I need to start saving some money. So step one in the new budget make homemade play dough. I searched the web, and decided to make the cooked version and it was fun and turned out pretty well. My girl sure had…

We all know about the importance of play for the emotional growth and development of children. It can enhance their imagination, increase social skills and boost self-confidence. So why don't we place more value on play for ourselves? According to a recent study by the Families and Work Institute, ½ of American women don’t have enough time to spend on themselves and the activities they enjoy.
Early on, girls tend to be collaborative, communicative and caring – you can see it…

Playdates can be tons of fun for both the parents and the kids. Or they can be total nightmares for both. On a personal level, I enjoy play dates. Probably as much as, if not more than, the kids do. I've not had a terrible experience, the kids always enjoy it and since I never go on playdates with women and their children that I don't know, I enjoy the company of the other moms as well. They've almost become therapy for me. I get to talk to an adult, my kids get to play with other children…

Confessions of a Gymboree Convert
Confession #1: I only signed up for Gymboree to make friends. We’d just moved to a new location, my husband had deployed and as a stay at home mom, I was looking for a network. So we signed up. I figured we’d go to the classes for a few months, I’d make a few friends and we’d stop our membership.
The first few weeks, this was still my…

A Toddler and Whipping Cream Fun
On Tuesday some friends came over for dinner. We enjoyed a freshly baked sweet potato pie for dessert, topped with whipped cream. Ever since then T, my 2 1/2 year old, has been begging for more whipped cream. He actually marched over to the refrigerator, opened it, and asked for whipped cream for breakfast on Friday! Of course he didn't get his wish. Later though, I decided to let him have some educational, exploratory fun with a little bit of whipped cream...…
