This morning as I played with our preschooler and our toddler, I started thinking about how much I really enjoy having the opportunity to be a work from home mom. I started thinking about all of the awesome benefits, but with everything (even great things) there are challenges.
Below is a list of my work at home mom pros and cons. Enjoy!
I love the fact that my schedule is so flexible. Working from…

New year seemed a good time to post this here =)
This is pretty long, so.... I bolded the main points. You can skim through and get the general idea by just reading the bold words- if you aren't inclined to read the whole thing ;-)
I'm a semi crunchy stay at home wife and mama of two…Continue

I can’t believe we are here. How has time gone by so fast?
One year of milestones achieved and memories made.
One year of watching you go from a fragile little infant and into an amazing, happy, independent little boy.
You’ve been ours for one full year. Every day we still have to pinch ourselves to remind…Continue

Soapbox Mommy: Celebrity Moms
… wherein I complain about celebrity moms, the media, and kids on my lawn. Also, I might be whiny.
Visiting the grocery store accomplishes three things:
1. I get out of the house
2. I get food
3. I catch up on the latest celebrity gossip
Yes, I can finally declare myself old because more often than not, I am oblivious to who these ‘celebrities’ are. Further, I have the tendency to complain about…Continue

She and I were having (trying to have) a quick telephone conversation yesterday evening while she was attempting to get dinner on the table for the kids (actually more like, she was trying…

Okay, I admit it. I'm a bad blogger. I admit this freely and openly. Do I like that fact that I have a lot to learn about blogging? No, but I'm improving. Do all bloggers go through this? Possibly. I go through it daily. Do I kick myself for it? Of course.
What am I going to do about it? Start blogging.
Let me tell you a little bit about me. I was overweight for a long time, 10 years to be exact. Why? Because I forgot about me. That's right, I was being a wife and mother, but…Continue

My husband and I have always used pet names for each other. Now that we have two boys, we call each other what they call us, Mom and Dad. My oldest had to ask what our 'real' names were when he was in Kindergarten, poor thing, but there you go. We will hopefully become Grandma and Grandpa some day in the VERY DISTANT future, but until then we will probably keep the names we have.
It is a few days before Mother's Day, and I'm trying to get some work done in between my six trips…

There are advantages to working from home, one of which is that I don't have to commute to work every day or sit through rush hour traffic just to get to my office. So here's how I save, in my own little way, as a mom, a wife and a homemaker.
1. Less trips to the grocery: My contribution to the family income goes towards all our food. We used to do…
