School is out! How will you keep your kids physically active this summer?

Plated + Served: Picnic Quinoa Salad
Here’s a protein-packed salad for your next picnic... especially if you know there will be some hungry vegetarians joining the fun!
This salad not only travels well, it stays fresh in the fridge for a couple of days so you can make it ahead of time. You can also add different veggies to the salad (diced carrots, jalapeños, radishes), depending on what’s in season.…

Hi-Lo? Oh-No.
Maybe I just don't get it. Maybe I'm not seeing something that everyone else is seeing. But I just do not understand this hi-lo trend thats going on right now.
For starters, the peplum tops and the hi-lo tops make people who aren't 90 lbs look pregnant. It doesn't matter how cute you think you look, you are most definitely 8 months showing.
This is one bandwagon I refuse to jump on. What happened to the really good, cute maxi dresses for Summer? (Remember we don't have…

I Wanna Soak Up The Sun
For many folks in the United States, spring cannot get here soon enough. Between torrential rain storms, late winter storms, and generally below average temperatures, American families are eager to get outdoors.
But even if temperatures are a little cooler than what you’d typically expect as this time of…

Summer is NOT over
I am one of those moms – the ones that are sad at the end of summer holidays. I love the unstructured time with my kids. Sleeping in. Heading to the beach. Travel. Family movie nights on a Tuesday instead of a weekend. I love time with my kids.
The school year heralds homework, schedules, structure, alarm clocks, more hanging out with buddies, and a lot of sports. In our house that means hockey, horse back riding, skiing, and snowboarding, and while I am…

Holiday weekend brings on thoughts of daunting fall schedule ahead
It's a holiday weekend. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and I have the day off.
I should be ecstatic. Instead, I'm fighting the blues. It's silly, I know. But end-of-summer time always does this to me. I absolutely love summer. I love the sun on my face, I love my little flower garden, and I love the lazy, slower schedule.
Tomorrow, the kids go back to school. And that means it's back to packing lunches, helping with homework, volunteering in the…
