Ok…so a 13-year-old boy had a lot to say about creativity and education these days and I really hope you will check him out first and foremost:

Let me start by saying that when my four kids set off for school in the morning amid kisses goodbye, double knotted running sneakers, heaved backpacks, and heart-shaped hand symbols to indicate yet more love for me (mommy), the day stretches ahead of me. It feels like I have hours to myself. Hours to accomplish all the things I set out to do. But then, how quickly 2:00 P.M. shows its face and I find myself scrambling to do ONE thing that will make me feel even remotely productive. Anyone else… Continue

My name, Jessica, is a pretty normal name. Very rarely I’d get asked how to spell it. In 1984 when I was born, Jessica was the most popular girls name going around. Back then, you never would have heard of a girl named ‘Apple’ or a boy called ‘Inspektor Pilot’. It would almost be guaranteed that those kids would have had some serious nicknames thrown at them throughout their lives.
Unique names are becoming a trend with the generation born now. It’s almost like a competition to see… Continue

My kids create so many drawings and some have been just wonderful (Pre-school has told them that if they don’t put their names on their art it gets put in the recycling, they I have been told are prolific at the quantity they create). It is great to see the girl’s drawings looking like people and actual things that they are saying they have drawn.
For Father’s Day this year I thought why not frame some of the girl’s drawings. I did ask them to draw daddy and they were good enough to… Continue

Let me tell you a story…
A team of mountain climbers was scaling Mount Everest, and they camped below the summit. Another team was returning from the top and saw them camped there.
“Why are you camped?” they wanted to know.
“We are waiting for our map,” they… Continue

Babies growing in bellies everywhere.
Is it just me or is the world’s population ready to explode with babies?
Every time I open my reader, there is another announcement of a pregnancy…
It’s like I’m surrounded by hormonal words and ice cream hogger.
But it’s very exciting.
I was looking on Etsy (I may have an addiction) for some fun clothes to adorn a baby boy that’s about to make his appearance sometime soon,… Continue

How many things do you BELIEVE in and DO in your life “Because everybody else does…?”
If you have teenagers, you've probably been given this as an excuse for unfavorable actions. For example, when our oldest son passed his driving exam, we didn’t know that the first thing he did was pick up his best friend and… Continue

We all have nicknames for our babes. Me...too many to count! Sometimes I lose track of when I've called my daughter by her actual name. I've attempted to list as many as I can in my new post. What to do with those affectionate names that mean so much they've just stuck? Visit PoshInfantStyle.com for many personalized clothing and gift ideas :) Thanks for… Continue

I fell in love with sweet vintage styled aprons but the vintage ones never made it out of my closets (to fragile) and the newer store bought ones were of sub par quality. So that is when I decided to to start making my own with the mantra "I can do better", I apply that to most things in my life and being a stay at home mum is no different. So a year ago I opened my shop on etsy. I am proud to make things by hand that are one of a kind and SO much better than mass produced, anonymous store… Continue

I spent yesterday evening watching a recap of the Royal Wedding with my 10 year old daughter. We both very much enjoyed seeing the pomp and circumstance of the event. Of course it was also fun to see the beautiful clothes and the hats…oh the hats! One of the fun facts that came out during the broadcast was that each guest was given a 22 page handbook on suggested etiquette for the event. Tips such as what type of dress would be appropriate for the men (apparently morning coats topped the list,… Continue

Lately I have been thinking about customer service. As a small business owner whose business depends on word of mouth we do everything that we can to keep our clients happy. Do you need a color changed on a personalized gift? No problem, just let us know and we are happy to change it. How about a hand written note in the gift, again no problem. I have been known to be at FedEx making their last shipment out so a present could go out in time because the client needed that to happen. Now needless… Continue

That Elusive Oh So Perfect Gift
When was the last time you received a perfect gift? When was the last time that you gave someone the perfect gift? What made that gift so special? Gift giving when you were a child was so easy. You colored a picture, made some art project in school and the receiver was thrilled. Gift giving as a grown up is a lot harder. We get calls from clients all the time asking us to help them pick something out. Over the years we have come up with a list of questions… Continue

I have always been fascinated by design. All types of design, from architecture to fashion and of course stationery, invitations and gifts. One of my favorite things is the chat with other designers about what their process is for coming up with new ideas. Many take inspiration from the world around them (I certainly do), some look for trends in other areas. Everyone has to come to their own process of how they design. But I thought that it might be interesting to share what our process is. It… Continue

A majority of the questions I receive from parents begin with these three words... “Is it normal…?”
Whether it is an over-emotional teenager or a toddler…
