Staying Sober, Day 63. "Dear Alcohol". By Shelly Long
Dear Alcohol.
"I know we've been through a lot together, and for a very long time you have been the one constant in my life. You've seen me through dark days, happy events, births, deaths, marriages, triumphs and tribulations. You have given me courage when I had none. You have never questioned or judged me. You have nursed me through the pains of defeat and partaken in the joys of victory. You have been my friend when others have left me by the wayside and turned their backs. You…

Staying Sober, Day 14
It has been far from easy but I have managed to stay sober for 14 days now. I can’t remember the last time I said that. It was possibly as many as 30 years ago. That’s a lot of drinking, a lot of money and more importantly, a lot of mistakes made whilst under the influence of the Demon Drink. I have done it because I wanted to. Not because someone told me I had to. Of course, I have been told this in the past, as I have been told many other things I chose not to listen to. We all know the…

Staying Sober, Day 7 (or end of Week 1)
So, that's it then. Week one is nearly done and dusted (save for a few hours that will hopefully pass by incident free). I have spent the few days since my last post seeking out more apt sites than Bloggymoms.com for my posts which regular readers will realize have shifted somewhat from the very sad subject of Termination to Addiction and am not sure whether this will be my last post on the site. It would be a shame if that were the case as…

Staying Sober, Day 4
Oh no! I've broken my promise already..... No, not that one! I'm still sober as a judge (do you honestly believe Judges stay sober by the way? I don't). The one about updating my blog every day! Sorry dear friends, but I have been too busy "doing" rather than writing. And replying to messages of support and love from all corners of the world for which I am eternally grateful. As I have said to many whom have written to me, it's an "inside job with outside help" and I can't thank everyone…

Staying Sober, Day 1
Today I made the biggest decision of my life - to stop drinking. To stop drinking totally and for good. I won't pretend it's been easy, even though I am only 18 hours into my sobriety. In fact, it's been hell. I shake, am tearful and have sunken into a depression through my craving for Alcohol already. I wasn't always an…

HOW ABORTION AFFECTS MEN: They Cry Alone
A university psychology class was viewing a film showing prenatal development. Suddenly, a student, a young man, rushed from the room. The professor followed him and found him leaning against the wall in the corridor. He was sobbing. All he could say was "I didn't know it was a baby! I would never have paid for it if I had known a baby was there!"
The "it" for which he had paid was an abortion. His tears made it apparent…

A Real Christmas Fairy-tale
Well well well! You'll never guess where I am! Only sitting next to my mate currently flying over the Alps on my way to Sharm El Sheik with him for 2 weeks! As I'd mentioned I was planning a family Christmas in London to which I could not of course invite my friend. I'd told him of course I'd love to come with him and the next thing I knew I received and email confirming my 2 weeks 5 star all inclusive holiday donated by my loving friend as a Christmas present! OK, so what if he didn't not…

The Fever Has Broken!
The fever has broken! Just saw a glimpse of my mate for the first time in 6 months....
Well, I don’t know what did it, maybe me bugging him constantly, the endless sight of Christmas Trees on every corner or the fact that he walks past a primary school at 3pm every day and still feels sick, as well as being depressed to his very wisdom teeth!. Maybe he just got bored of being so very very sad...
But whatever it is he's just called me all excited telling me of…

Why the man's story of abortion should be told,
I have thought long and hard about continuing this blog, not least because of the trouble it seemed to cause and my friend lost his liberty. But some things are more important than liberty. Like the truth for example, or for other men to know exactly what effect having a termination can have on their lives. After all, it's all about women these days..
Well, it is their body right?
Well of course it is, Let me give you a scenario. A woman comes home from work one…

Losing a child by abortion.
What about a man involved in the decision to abort his baby? Does he too suffer negative psychological effects? If so, where can he turn for help to cope? As we investigate these questions and more, you will be surprised by the…

Should Blogging be a Criminal offence?
Well, after my last post I had a quick look on the net and it seems to be an area of hot discussion, the most promising post I found being

A far bigger question - Is Blogging really free speech?
Although a terrible shame to curtail a gripping story just as it was getting interesting, to be honest, it's was about to get to all the really horrible memories of being alone, not listened to, made to feel like crap and just how coping with it all also was becoming rather tedious to write and it was just about to take me and others to places I didn't want to go - how coping with termination had left a friend of mine. Suffice to say he just wishes it would just all go away and some…

The end of the Beginning, Part 2
Day 3,
So, another restless night although I am starting to feel slightly less angry about SW's blogs.. It looks like she might be about to make a change in the error of her ways but we'll see. Perhaps it's all a ruse for me to not publish the real facts of our relationship and the details of the termination – which this blog is really all about.
So the next 20 years? Well I don't want to bang on about sex, drugs and rock n' roll in the usual manner. Suffice to say I had a…

So she's stopped blogging then? I'm just warming up...Oh no, guess what , she has changed her mind,, well I never
OK, 2 hour daily morning panic attack over, masses of coffee consumed and all work done. I can't go to the gym as I went yesterday for the first time since August (and now ache more than a one legged marathon runner...)
So there you go.. My X had an abortion because she was unhappy in her work and instead of seeing it as a wonderful occasion, used it as her way out of the rat race and fulfil her fairy-tale and become a full time writer! When her demands were not met, she moved on…
