Being A WAHM is Lonely
I like to pride myself at times as being the independent type. (My friends call it "loner". LOL.) So most of the time I don't mind spending hours at a time online trying to figure out what my next blog post should be about or how I can increase my Facebook fan base. I find it fun.
But even us "loners" can get a bit lonely and out of touch with the outside world when even 10,000 Twitter followers just don't cut it as well as coffee with a friend or dinner with a…

Hold Fast to Dreams, Pursuit of Joy - Mom. Life. Love.
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Breaking Free from the 9 to 5: The Plan
Last week I discussed my decision to leave the corporate world as a collections agent to become a WAHM (work-at-home-mom). The transition wasn't easy, but I made the jump and I don't regret it. Leaving a salary and benefits for uncharted territory (for me) felt insane and scary, but I also felt the biggest sense of…

When Work From Home Seems Hopelessly Hard
It gets hard sometimes. You know, being in business for yourself. At least it does for me. Some days I don’t want to get up early before the kids wake. I want to snuggle deeper into my pillow and pull the covers over my head. Some days, I don’t get any new clients, though I work hard, and I feel like giving up.
Some months, the pay is less than expected…way less, and I wonder if I made the right decision. And sometimes, though I don’t like to admit it,…

That's My Name . . . Don't Wear It Out!
My husband and I have always used pet names for each other. Now that we have two boys, we call each other what they call us, Mom and Dad. My oldest had to ask what our 'real' names were when he was in Kindergarten, poor thing, but there you go. We will hopefully become Grandma and Grandpa some day in the VERY DISTANT future, but until then we will probably keep the names we have.
It is a few days before Mother's Day, and I'm trying to get some work done in between my six trips…
