Prevent Heat Related Car Accidents This Summer
Each summer I always cringe when I hear sad stories on the new about parents or daycare workers accidentally leaving a child inside of a hot car, in some cases the child was only left alone few minutes. As a mom, I always wondered how and why these kind of things happen to an infant or child. I know that I personally make sure that my kids are out of the car…

What to Expect When Your Child May Be Getting Their Two Year Molars?
Today my youngest got to spend the day with me, he started running a low grade fever last night and acted like he didn’t feel very good. I decided that is was best to keep him home from daycare so that he could get some extra rest while I monitored his fever. It was nice being able to spend some one on one time with my baby. We enjoyed the extra snuggles and cuddles, we watched a few of his favorite shows on TV, and spent some time …

Failed Newborn Hearing Screening – My Daughter’s Story
Once I received news that my daughter failed her repeat newborn hearing screening, we were quickly referred to the local children’s hospital and to an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) doctor for further evaluation. Things moved fairly quickly and my daughter was scheduled to have another type of hearing test to determine how much hearing loss she had so that they could determine what course of action that we needed to take. The next hearing test was more extensive and my daughter had to…

Why Do Puzzles Make Great Learning Tools?
Yesterday when I went to pick up my son from daycare, he was playing and having a great time. The teacher was letting all of the kids in his classroom play with puzzles and my son was trying very hard to get the puzzle pieces into the right spot. It was fun to watch him play and learn a new skill. I…

Making Decisions for Me or Three
A huge sigh of relief washes over me...and as soon as I feel the pressure release in my shoulders, something rushes over me. I'm thrust from the couch, as though I was just launched from a human rocket, and sprint to the bathroom. I barely make it to the toilet before I see my lunch floating on top and sinking to the bottom...and not realizing that this uneasiness is foreshadowing for the weeks to come.
I text Jason the next day, and I don't receive a reply. I feel like I'm in déjà…

Indoor toys
Summer and Derick both love motorbike rides. My husband drives both of them around the village every afternoon for a joy ride.
They love it. Most especially Derick. It is a new experience for him. I can see the excitement and enthusiasm in his eyes every time he rides with his dad.
So we bought them toy bikes/trikes that they can use indoors. The first one is a glider type. It doesn't have a dynamo. It is propelled by swinging the steering handles left to right. The…
