Have you received your Amazon Deals email yet?
Do you have your gift list done already?
I ask because I have been getting a lot of personalized recommendations from Amazon for gift ideas to my email lately. This made me more aware that the holidays is just around the corner and this made me really feel the change of the seasons again.

Have you ever been introduced to someone that is friends with your friend and something just doesn’t click? You want to be cordial and you are but you just can’t find a commonality between the two of you. It happens way more often than we would like, sure you may both have children but you may have different methods of raising them, you…Continue

There is a misconception in the world that Christians are narrow minded, judgmental, over zealous, stuffy characters who pretend to care about people all in the name of Jesus. Don't get me wrong, I've met my fair share of those people but one thing…Continue

I read with interest Clementine Ford's article "When paying for child care is women's work". In Ms Ford's article it shows that women don't work due to not earning any money and child care fees taking a big chunk of the women's wage, but why is it solely the responsibility of the women's wage to…Continue

Early Good morning to all my Diva Ladies out there in the blog-a-sphere! It has been a few good weeks since I have been able to blog. Managing between two active children, fiance, and business I can say I have been overbooked. Today I finally had time to spare and decided to finish my homemade lotions of course I had to rock Niomae to sleep as I tried to design labels that would go well with the 8oz bottles that I choose.…Continue

With Catherine and Basil helping to deliver supplies to some Jersey Shorecommunities devastated by Hurricane Sandy last Saturday, I took advantage of the day to cook up a storm.
I filled the fridge with healthy home-cooked meals, trying to use…Continue

There is nothing as supportive as a group of women.
That’s an idea you don’t hear bandied about regularly. Usually the snarking, backstabbing, and mean girl behaviour gets the airtime. Yet women are the best at supporting one another, and the others (who are in the minority) get attention simply because they snarl loudest.
When I began running it was women who were quick with words of advice and pompoms out ready to cheer. Last year I blindly and clumsily launched myself…Continue

I would like to introduce LesLunes to the Bloggy moms community.
We are a french inspired lingerie line with one mission to change the way women wear lingerie. Since we believe that a woman in touch with pleasure is a woman in touch with her power, we make sure the fashion she wears against her skin is the most luxurious, feel-good clothing in her wardrobe—the kind that gives her sass and confidence. Because we know a confident woman doesn’t only change her own…Continue

It is 2012 and you would have thought that the treatment of women would be the same as men, right? Well some stories in the news have surprised me and made me think we are not living in 2012 at all. Not sure what year we are in, but the view of women is that we are controlled by hormones, we obviously cannot make a decision that is not controlled by our menstrual cycle and of course we have powerful ways of not getting pregnant if we were ever raped – legitimate rape or not? How can rape…Continue

I stepped in to the store, taking stock of the room as I walked through the glass doors. I wasn’t sure where to start. My eyes scanned the displays and my heart skipped a beat as I saw the aisles of tops and dresses in a rainbow of colors. I carefully picked through several racks before I found a top I thought was perfect for the occasion. It was date night and it would be the first time I would wear a new outfit in a very long time.
Not because I didn’t want…Continue

Today is the International Day of the Girl Child, it is a day to think about girls around the world and what chances they have for a good life. Do they get an education? Do they have the right to marry when they want? Do they have the same rights as men in their country? The answer to these questions is mostly no, unless you lived…Continue

Not all of us, women is endowed with sexy, voluptuous bodies.
Well...voluptuous with curves maybe...but sexy?
Let's admit it, most of us, especially after giving birth have gained some weight. There are even girls who, despite not giving birth, pretty much have a hard time keeping those ugly FATS off! Ugh!
I often tell my husband, if only Dr. Vicky Belo, a popular…

LUNCH WITH TWO WOMEN NAMED JOAN
When she was ten, my mother met a girl who shared her first name. They quickly became best friends and stayed so for the next 75 years. Together they shared schoolyard memories, weddings, and years of family get-togethers.
But in the year and a half since my father…Continue
