My Holiday Wrap Up

I breathe a sigh of relief as I finally get a moment to sit back and reflect on the past two weeks of holiday hustle and bustle.

We've had a very full and enjoyable two weeks. Wrapping it all up New Year's day with a brunch. For about eight years now, we've gotten together with Trevor's former work colleagues turned friends for a New Year's day brunch. We rotate houses and brunch is always pot luck. It was especially wonderful this year as we were able to get everyone together. The… Continue

Musings of a SAHM

I've been very fortunate to be a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) since the twins were born in 2004. At the time I was running a home-based online business; but I was and am a mom first and foremost.

What I have learned in those six years is read more

When to Admit Defeat?

Trevor and I have been struggling to stay afloat for several months now. We never seem to catch a break. Just when we think we're getting caught up, something else happens that sends us spinning. It's that old "one step forward, two steps back" adage coming at us; only in our case it's like one step forward, ten steps back.

I'm exhausted. I don't want to deal with it anymore.…

Clipa Review and Giveaway

Being a woman and a mom I'm never without a handbag or diaper bag when I go out. I've never been a fan of using my larger handbags when out as there is never anywhere to put them and I've always tried to live by the superstition "Don't put your purse on the floor, or you'll stay broke." Of course, I haven't always been able to avoid putting my purse on the floor (maybe that's why I AM broke!); but, that all stops now with the… Continue

Day 19 of Project 365

I took this photo for day 19 of the 365 photo challenge. Sunday morning, we enjoyed a yummy raspberry pancake breakfast and I snapped this pick of the 3 kids stuffing their faces, LOL.…

September Starts

The first day of September is upon us. For many people, September brings about new starts. A fresh school year for the kids, new fall line ups on TV and new seasons for old favourites and extra curricular activities start back up.

Some of you may know that I volunteer with Girl Guides…

Stubborn Sleeper

Before I begin my small rant, let me first say that Piper is a good sleeper at night. She sleeps from 7-7 consistently and for that I am truly thankful.

BUT, this not napping during the day is brutal! She's 10 months old. She needs a nap, if not 2. Now, I know she doesn't sleep well anywhere except her own bed and that's fine. It makes me a slave to the nap; but, I'm okay…

A Twist on an Old Favourite

I love the Fall! I love the colours, the smells, the cooler weather. But most of all, I love the Fall harvests. Apples, Pears, Squash, Pumpkins, mmmm.

The kids and I went apple and pear picking on Friday morning. While it's still early in the season for apples, one of my favourite varieties, Gingergold, were ready. We picked a bag of the apples and a bag of Bartlett pears.…

Momstown Birthday Bash

The kids and I just got home from the Momstown Hamilton birthday celebration. It was a wonderful morning and I'm so glad the rain held off despite the grey and gloomy sky.

Yes, I am a GEEK

I am so excited! For the past week I have been trying to get the new iPhone 4. Every morning I would get up, dressed and head out to our local Rogers store for about 8:00 am. The store doesn't open until 9:00 am; but, I wanted to make sure I was there when in opened on the off chance they had the hard-to-come-by phone in stock.

Every morning for the past week I have been told…

Delicious Raspberry Muffins

Yesterday I found a recipe for blackberry muffins at Pumpkin Tart. I decided to give it a try; but quickly realized Brodie had polished off all my blackberries. In an attempt to save the batter I made a decision to use the fresh raspberries I had instead. I've got to tell you, it was a… Continue

Fashionista or Fashion Flop?

I LOVE to shop. There is nothing that makes me happier than retail therapy. It's the one fail proof way to lift my spirits when I'm down. Even if I don't have money to spend, a trip to the mall, window shopping, will do the trick.

I love going into stores to see what trends are coming out this season. With Back to School upon us, Fall clothing lines are out and frankly, Fall…
