If you’ve been reading my weekly breastfeeding posts, you know I’ve talked about the importance of a good, supportive nursing bra. The main reason why I know one is needed? Because I’ve been lacking a good one. I had so-so options. I didn’t buy any before giving birth, figuring I’d buy one from the hospital with the help of an LC. (I had a 10% off coupon from attending their breastfeeding class!) Unfortunately, they said I couldn’t be fitted until two weeks after birth so my rib cage had… Continue

Today I’m happy to bring you a unique gift idea for new mothers, young children, and/or grandparents! (And a chance to win one!) I received the opportunity to work with Baby Abuelita Productions to review and giveaway one of their adorable dolls. Seriously, these are so cute. I’m excited to share them with you because I think they are a great gift for kids, especially if your child enjoys Dora and/or Diego.

I’ve mentioned before that I am trying to work on healthier eating. This used to mean dieting and no dessert to me. Well, that just set me up to fail every.single.time. There’s got to be a way to have a healthier cake and eat it too, right?
Apparently there is! Only, when I first heard about cooking with olive oil, I thought that was for cooking chicken in a pan or for coating potatoes to be baked in the oven with some seasoning. So, if you are like me, finding out that olive oil can… Continue

So what did I think of it?
Upon it’s arrival in the mail, I wasn’t too impressed. It was a sample sized container but didn’t have a seal. I don’t know about you, but I like that added sense of security that my food is fresh and untampered with. Hopefully the full sized ones come sealed?
Aside from that… well. It looks strange. It looks like mashed up bacon. It’s spreadable yet there are obvious pieces of bacon strewn throughout. I started to get a little nervous about eating it. I was… Continue

Now that you’ve created a blog, it’s important to ensure that it is user friendly for your readers. An easy to navigate site will increase the likelihood of retaining readers. Some of these tips may seem obvious, but unfortunately, I have encountered many blogs and websites that were not user friendly. I couldn’t tell you which ones for certain because I haven’t returned to them.
4 Important User Friendly Areas of Any Blog...

So you’ve decided to offer your baby a great, healthy start by breastfeeding. You are thrilled that you won’t have to fumble in the darkness making late night bottles. And cheers to less dishes to wash! But don’t forget, you still need to take care of your breasts.
Wear supportive bras. Avoid underwire if possible (definitely a no-no for sleeping). If not sized properly and worn correctly, the pressure from the wires may contribute to plugged ducts.

I love shopping for baby girl clothes. Any of you that read my blog during my pregnancy last year know this from the baby wardrobe posts. Girlie dresses and outfits have their time and place, but I don’t dress that way myself. I’m most comfortable in a band tour shirt (or a witty one) and jeans.
I listen to heavy metal.
I have a tattoo.
I want some baby clothes with attitude! Edgy, cool stuff.
I’m happy to share with you a place that has all that: Baby Rock… Continue

As a new mama, I take a lot of pictures. And I mean A LOT. Technology has made this easy with digital cameras, smart phones and even digital video cameras. No worries about wasted film! But what can I do with all of these? Scrapbooking takes too much time that I don’t have and limits my sharing ability.
Needless to say, I was quite happy to be given the opportunity to try out Animoto!
What is Animoto?

I’m used to mints and gum seeming to help at first, but fading fast after they are gone. This has not been the case with the lozenges from my experience. I’ve also grown accustomed to the mandarin mint flavor. I continue to use the toothpaste and oral rinse. My teeth haven’t felt this smooth other than when I get cleanings at the dentist. It really seems to have decreased my plaque buildup. I still have a bit of morning breath, but overall my mouth feels and tastes cleaner, fresher and wetter… Continue

Remember me sharing about my opportunity to beta test for Toygaroo? Well, I’m overdue on giving you an update!
We’ve received our first shipment, which consisted of four of the toys I selected. I wasn’t sure what would be in the box – only that it’d have four out of the 25 or so toys I picked out. Before going into specifics and pictures, let me say that overall I’m content with Toygaroo so far.

All the products have a fresh, clean scent and glide on easily. The Rescue Cream nicely absorbed into Rissa’s legs, which were feeling a little rough from the dry air. I also used it on her neck. She had some irritation from drooling, bibs, and car seat straps. It seemed to help clear up the redness within a few hours. It also worked nicely on the back of my hand, which gets a rough, dry patch off and on during the winter. I liked how it felt – cool and smooth. I’ve tried using “body butter”… Continue

The first few weeks can be the toughest and rockiest part to developing your breastfeeding relationship with your baby. I knew it’d be work, but didn’t realize justhow overwhelming it could be!
Here are my 10 tips (in no particular order) so you can focus on you and baby:
