The sun is shining through the window next to me
I love sunshine. The warmth it provides, and the brightness are sure to lighten any mood! It's beauty reminds me of the light we are called to be in the world! It's brightness reminds me of the Son shining in my heart and my life!
While my head and nose are stuffy, and a cough seems to be making an appearance, the sun shining lightens my spirits and encourages me to get up and moving throughout the day!
A day at the water…Continue
Since Tuesday, I have been thinking about how I view teaching vs. training.
Teaching reminds me of school ~ one person instructing another ~ helping and encouraging when difficulties arise.
Training I picture ~ pushups, running ~ always being driven to push yourself harder and more than ever before ~ the instructor demanding more because they believe you are capable of more than you yourself believe.…Continue

Last night I went to bed exhausted, not feeling well and with nothing on the slate to blog about today. God has always provided something for me to write, even when I feel as if I have nothing to say. For this I am very thankful, this tells me I am here for a purpose, beyond just loving to write. God has me here, writing for Him, to reach others with words that often are not mine, but His.
In my morning devotions, I am still following the…Continue

Encouragement.....something as parents we tend to look for. Whether it be from our parents, our in laws, or others, we need/want to know we're doing good at the "parenting" thing.
Today I am guest posting over at Blessed Beyond a Doubt. Follow me over there to read the rest of my post today!

If you've read my Mission Statement, Dreams & Goals you'll know that I want SHH to be a place where no masks are worn and all are loved. If you haven't read it, you can find it here. Today I'm being honest, no masks ;)
This week has been crazy for us. Being a stay at home family, we tend to move at a much slower pace than most. My son has been attending cub scout camp all…Continue

We all remember the good ol' days....Where everything was perfect, he was perfect. We felt adored, lovely, holding hands and kissing weren't even a question.....
What happens when the good ol' days are gone? When nothing goes right, when neither of you are perfect is a reality, loveliness is exchanged for pjs, and affection is not what it used to be?
In the beginning we tell everyone ~ "we're in love!" Time goes on, life happens, choices are made and before you know it…Continue

Recently after reading a blog post over at Denise in Bloom coupled with the study I'm doing with a couple other help meets/bloggers through the Pro Blogger Book. I was inspired to write down my mission statement.
Why did I create Simply Helping Him? What is my purpose? What are my goals? What am I here to share/teach?
I wanted to share these with you! That way…Continue

What makes beauty? Is it just a pretty face?
They say beauty is only skin deep. Yet is that true?
I believe that our outer beauty is a greatly affected by, and a reflection of our inner beauty. I've seen my skin red, splotchy, broken out, oily, etc. During the times when I had these skin issues, stress was an every day issue for me. Life choices stressed me out, a lack of sleep, overwork, and unhealthy eating habits all contributed to stress.
Learning to eat healthier…Continue

"No, I won't go!"
"I want that toy ~ I'm not leaving until I get it!"
Have you heard these statements before?
What happens when you refuse to give in?
Enter now ~ crying, whining, screaming, laying on the floor, kicking....sigh.....the "joys" of a temper tantrum.
My children both went through this stage. It was not easy, embarrassment seemed a daily occurrence at times. I wish I could say I was always strong and won all the battles, but I can't.

This week already feels like forever.....
Tomorrow's post should be today's.....for I need the reminder....
I will explain, so tomorrow you'll understand....my peanut has been extremely difficult this week. I am not sure what is going on differently, but it surely should be a new week by now. Yet I open my eyes and it is not.
"Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it".
This has been a blessed saying for me. I am claiming it yet again. No mistakes. Even if just…Continue

Today I am going to share a new product with you AND you'll have the opportunity to win a set yourself!
I am slowly continuing to change things in our home, turning away from chemical laden products and adding natural products in!
I have been using all natural laundry detergent for almost a year, but had not found anything to replace dryer sheets yet. I missed the softness of our laundry badly! I had seen wool dryer balls a few times over the last year, but due to being…Continue

As a couple with a family of lil ones, it is often difficult to find time, energy, and even desire to have alone time together, as a couple.
Hubby's are often tired from a long day of work. They come home spend time being daddy until the kiddos bedtime, and he collapses, thankful for the quiet, remote and bedtime.
Wives are exhausted from a long day at work (away from home or stay at home, both qualify). Making dinner, doing dishes, bath time, reading/cuddle time....all this…Continue

Hubby is away tonight. Just in time my mom sent me a package and inside were two of my favorite movies! Funny Girl and Funny Lady. So I am off as soon as I finish my short, sweet and simple Saturday blog post!
I recently read 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp and began counting.....not for anyone, not just because of her book.
See, I didn't read the book for quite a while because it seemed like a "fad" and I don't…Continue

"The only way to fight a feeling is with a feeling." Rolin McCraty
I ran across this statement while reading One Thousand Gifts over the last two weeks. It stopped me in my tracks.
Feelings run so rampant these days. Look around our neighborhoods, schools, the television, etc. You'll see feeling not only in word, but in action as well.
What if we were to truly live out the statement McCraty gives us? Replacing anger with love, disappointment with contentment, anxiety…Continue

When Elizabeth asked me if I would do a guest blog post over @ Warrior Wives. I was excited and surprised, this was my first "requested" guest blog post.
The name of her blog struck me immediately. Warrior Wives. I do not see myself as a warrior, yet I am honored to share my story with her and her readers ~ and I hope you'll follow me over there to read my story..
