Today I got to have a good laugh, and shop at the same time! It has been decided that for her birthday my girl will get a new bike. She announced this news to someone, and described the one she is getting. Well, there's an oops, because in a bad mommy moment I didn't get it when I first saw it, and when I went back it was gone. I honestly feel worse then I should about it, I…

There seems to be a lot of hullaballoo about taking children to restaurants lately. Nice restaurants, family restaurants (I don't know about the difference, I think a family restaruant can be very nice...), fast food, and even child-based restaurants. I think that a child should be able to behave in ANY of those, and if you want to treat your children to a nice meal out then go ahead. There is a great feeling in being told by a server how well your child behaves, I promise it's worth the…

I remember being a child and always trying to find out how rainbows were made. I looked for them everywhere. So I posted a few ways to make them.
What child doesn't love a rainbow? There's so many ways to make them too! Here some of my favorites, with pictures coming soon to the craft page :)

I fell on the ice. Not just any ice, the on my own sidewalk, inside my fenced yard, where I warn everyone all the time there will be ice. "Walk around" or "careful!" I usually keep it ice melted, but just this once I had an early appointment and I didn't notice it on the way out. So, of course, on the way in I fell. One of those great falls that we all hope for on the way down. Much like skating, I went for the sit-down-quick-it'll-hurt-less theory, and it kinda worked, and I have a little…

*I want to start this post by saying I don't judge. Unfortionately at this point and this topic I'm not sure I can honestly say that. I do not want to be insulting or mean, everyone has their point of view, I simply feel that sometimes they are wrong... Please accept my apologies on any diffences of opinion on this topic and don't hate me.

I hear time and time again that you can't reason wtih small children, and that they are not capable of making decisions. I agree on some points, but generally I do think they are capable of some reason, and I think it's important to encourage them to develope decision making skills so when they are older they can make decisions themselves.

Alright, I have reached into my "bad mommy" bag of tricks for a solution to the whining in my house. She started late, so I find my tolorence is low. If you aren't going to go through the annoying development phases at the appropriate age, then i have no patience for it later! Too old is too old!
So, the solution to listening to the whining that seems to be getting more and more constant, is that she can do it, as long as…

I'm not perfect. But surprise!! Either is anyone else. One of my goals for myself is to be a good friend. I know that I used to be, I was always there when people needed to talk, and to lend a helping hand when I could, and now it seems harder to do. Why?
My friends are not telling me when they need me. They are not telling me what is happening in their lives, they are not telling me if something has made them sad or worried,…

For those of you brave enough to read this even after seeing such a boring title, here is a peek into how I keep my life moving along!
I have a lot on my plate, and it is SO important to keep track of everything and keep a schedule because otherwise I won't make all my appointments or keep track of what I'm supposed to do. In order to do this I have a HUGE daytimer, complete with dividers and pockets for all that important stuff I just can't lose.
I use my weekly pages to…

I sometimes feel like I should have a moment of silence at the end of every week, to mourn the loss of another week of my life. It feels like the year is speeding by and I don't know where it's gone! I know that I have a lot to do and that I'm fairly busy, but still, I should be able to know what I did and how much I got done.
I exagerate. I guess it's not really that bad...
I measured my child again. The rate of growth is crazy! I swear we just got new pajamas (yup,…

Sometimes it feels like neighbors and local people just don't care much about the people around them. People drive fast, cut each other off, don't want to wait their turn, don't stop when a car is on the side of the road, etc. I am happy to say that in my neighborhood community does exist! Perhaps the people who you would expect to be the most helpful and supportive aren't, but others might be.
I've been watching the news about all the storms in the US and I like to see and hear…

Being a stay home mom has been the best part about being a mom. I'm here for all the fun parts, first everything, and when she needs me or is sick, I'm here to snuggle her and make it a little better.
However, it can get so boring sometimes (naps, school, time with grandparents...) and while I always have chores to do, sometimes you just want to chat wtih someone who gets it. Enter FaceBook! And Bloggy Moms. And playgroups.
Recently I decided that the only way to make…

Even when I shopped at WalMart years ago, I made a little fun of it. I went there for certain items only, and then left. Now, as a busy mom, I finally get the appeal of the store.
I hardly ever get to go clothes shopping for something in the adult section. A trip to WalMart is almost always justifiable though! While te clothes may not be up to my previous standard, they're still clothes. Besides, what good is fancy underwear after a run trough the dryer with a dozen tiny socks and my…

During winter months we are faced with the challenge of keeping our children safe and warm at the same time. There are a few ways to accomplish this, but when placing a child of any age into a carseat there are certain things to remember.

I find myself saying so many interesting things to my child that I had to share some, this post is also on my webpage www.supermomssuperkids.weebly.com
Reasoning with a preschooler I hard! They don't have the comprehension of adults, and what they do understand they hardly ever remember. This has lead me to a series of statements I either never thought I'd say or I hoped I could avoid.
"Don't hang on the handle…

Sitting home on a Friday night is likely to bring up thoughts of relationships. My past ones, my friends, marriages and dating. I noticed a few times in my prior relationship that my ex seemed to be in competition with me, whether I wanted to be or not. Now I am noticing that my friends seem to be in a competition withing their marriage. I hope that their competitive nature doesn't come between them as it did myself and my ex...
It started innocently enough, I think. They…

This usually isn't a big issue, because what I teach her at home has a stronger and more lasting affect, but since this school year started it's becoming much more of an issue. My daughter is expected to behave in a certain way, and I ensure that rules are…
