This topic was brought to me by my sister from another mister, Vanessa...
Have you ever been driving somewhere and your kid suddenly has something sooooo important to tell you? The conversation goes something like this:
Kid: "Mom! Mom! Mom, quick look!"
Mom: "Baby, I can't. I'm driving."
Kid: "Mom! Mo-om! Mooooo-oooommm!"
Mom: "When we get to a red light I can turn around, I can't right now."
Kid: "But just real quick, it's important!"
Mom: "I said it will have to wait. If I turn around now we could crash."
Mom: (As you turn around) "I said I can't, didn't you hear me? What is it?!?"
Kid: "Look at this sticker I found, isn't it cute?"
True story and it happened to both Vanessa and myself yesterday...
In two separate cars...
Or how about when your daughter thinks she knows the ONLY way to get somewhere and gets nervous when you take a different route...
The Diva: "Uh Mom, where are we going?"
Me: "To Mama's house, Baby"
The Diva: " Mom. This is not the right way..."
Me: "Yes it is."
The Diva: "No it's not, the other way has a Plublix." ( That's not a typo, it's how she says 'Publix')
Super J: (From the 3rd row) " Yeah Mom!"
Me: (Seriously trying no to laugh) " I know, but this is a different way, it's ok."
Super J: "What? That's silly!"
The Diva: " Are you seriously.....? I think we're lost...."
*Sigh* My little ones make even the simplest trips hilarious.
Oh, and I mentioned that The Teen got his learners permit, right? No? Well he did, and now he insists on driving to all our daytime errands....
I think I need to get one of those Easy Buttons installed in the car....
