Let me begin by asking a question.  If you were going to start a business, would you just wake up one day and do it?  Just open the doors without any planning and simply hope for the best? Or would you make a business plan, seek statistics and do all that you could to insure your investment would be well worth it?  I am betting most of you agree that the second option would be the most effective.  Yet, when it comes to planning our days, most of us typically wake up, and just shoot from the hip, hoping for the best.  Then before we know it, the day is over and we are asking ourselves, “what is it exactly that I got accomplished today?”  Being effective requires preparation.  So, the first part in my series Spring Cleaning for the Soul is to Be Effective – Organize your life to improve daily efficiency. In order to be effective, we need to prepare for our day even before it begins.

I truly desire to be extremely organized and have done better over the years, but at my age and all that we have going on, plus having a little one running around again, I really have no choice.  So, I am now on my way to becoming a professional organizer…ok, not professional, but at least functional.  Maybe you are in the same boat ~ wanting to get organized but are so overwhelmed with all the chaos that you just don’t know where to begin.  Let today be the day you choose to be organized!  It only takes a choice to do it, and I hope you will.  Here are a few things I am doing to help make my days more effective and improve my efficiency....
