Why do people fight being open to the opinions, beliefs of others...why
must there always seem to be division amongst us all on simple common
things??
Have you ever asked yourself, why is it that, my friend says this or thinks this or believes this?? Politics
and religion of course are the biggest issues most friends, family argue
about, attacking each other personally and causing rifts and tears in
the fabric of their lives. Well over the weekend I had a chance to sit
with my cousin Mike, and get a look at what he feels is important, talk
about why he feels so strongly about issues and yes I went into Downtown
Washington D.C to the “Restoring Honor” Rally.
What an experience..and as a yes free thinking, independent woman, who speaks her mind, makes her own
decisions and has her own beliefs about spirituality, worship and being
open.
Sit back, relax and I hope you enjoy and gain some insight on how this Reiki Practioner, Medium and
Lightworker experienced this day.
First a little backstory, I have a cousin Mike, who is a staunch conservative, there is no gray just black
and white..left or right..and we do get into somewhat heated exchanges
since he moved to the Commonwealth of Virginia in April for a job...but
we do agree to respect each others opinions and in the end we still are
great friends and it feels great to have him back in my life. When the
rally was first mentioned a few months back, I laughed at him..not being
a huge Glen Beck fan as he is, I cajoled him, and said sorry, thats not
my thing; he’s a nut case etc.. but he was coming up for the weekend to
attend a baseball game as our beloved Cardinals (yes we are from St
Louis) were playing a 3 game series with the Washington Nationals. So,
he being directionally challenged in such a huge city with the Metro
System etc.. I said fine i’ll go down with you, just so you don’t get
lost..fully prepared with loaded up tunes on the IPhone, headset etc..he
laughed at me. Having gotten in late Friday night from the baseball
game, i chose to stay with him in his hotel room, so we could get up and
get an early start on the day because as time passed, I noticed this
was going to be bigger than first thought. Up at 6:15 a.m...yes that
early! Getting ready, eating breakfast, it was all over the news..we
began our journey to the metro at 7 a.m...the metro was packed with
people from all over heading down to the National Mall and towards the
Lincoln Memorial..hearing stories of how family members had camped out,
were in line when the “gates” opened at 7am. We met several wonderful
friendly folks, we shared laughed etc..as we all made our way to the
mall..
Stepping out from the Smithsonian Metro Station, we are greeted with a wave of people heading down towards
the Lincoln Memorial. Of course the typical folks were there with hand
outs and stickers, folks selling flags...as we walked, we were in awe
of the sights before us. Waves and waves of people walking,
talking..helping each other across the streets of Washington D.C. As we
crossed over 14th Street, the tents were set up with information on the
SOWF (Special Operations Warrior Fund) the cause the money raised from
sales of shirts etc were going towards. One by the way i think is
totally worth your interest. Coming up over the crest of the Washington
Monument, all one could see was a sea of people, flags and more! The
reflecting pool was surrounded by people, as was the steps of the
Lincoln Memorial. This sea of people kept moving as the waves kept
coming in. Everyone was peaceful, friendly and quite open. My cousin
was amazed, impressed and a bit overwhelmed by all the sights that were
in front of him. He became very quiet and observant. We walked through
the people, trying to find a comfortable place to sit and not be out in
the open sun, as it was already quite warm at 8:30 a.m. The organizers
had volunteers out helping folks, handing out cold water and even had
misting tents set up for those who were becoming too hot. This was very
well organized! Yes even porta potties were there to handle the needs
of the crowd.
After finding a spot in what was being called the “overflow” space, but further in the trees for the shade and
breeze..we sat down, so we could see one of the “trons” set up...but
all we wanted to do was hear it.
Upon sitting down, taking off my shoes, but yes leaving on the necessary brace on the ankle (thank you
tendonitis)...i began to feel the energy of Mother Earth rise into my
body..it was a powerful feeling..yet peaceful. I sat with closed eyes
and meditated for a few minutes to get grounded and centered, so I could
experience this event fully open and grounded. I had said I would
“shut off” my gifts because one could become easily overwhelmed with the
masses of people. I however once I saw the enormity of this rally,
stayed open but surrounded myself with a white light of protection.
More and more people came to the area we were in, the feeling of
acceptance, love and excitement filled the air. Mike, normally not a
very open, daring man, began talking to people, taking pictures of
things, and becoming enveloped by the energy (although not sure he would
admit to it). I was proud of him for being so friendly and laughing
etc..being bold even!
The closer it got to being 10:00 a.m, the crowds were singing, and became quiet, and just as the program was
about to begin, a flock of the geese that sit in the pond, flew off
towards the Lincoln Memorial in a perfect V formation, setting the tone
for what was to come, and it was applauded by all. Nature was reacting
to the energy of the day, and despite the sea of attendees, the calmness
of it all. As the presentation began, I sat and let the energy of it
all wash over me. To say that I tingled, felt washed by it, would be an
understatement. Meditating on this, closing my eyes..i felt myself
being rocked back and forth by the waves of peaceful loving energy from
the earth and those around me.
The crowd went wild when Glen Beck was announced and he came out to see what crowds were sitting there,
standing to be a part of this event. He was gracious, kind and loving.
This was not political (which i thought it would really be) but instead
it was a call to those attending and listening to go back to the way
things should be..Caring for your family and neighbors, being honorable
in your words and deeds..extending charity to those in your community
with your time, help or whatever you can give..Yes the call to return to
God was issued..prayers offered up, songs and more. Medals given to
those who indeed earned them in Faith, Hope and Charity..which brought
tears to my eyes. This rally was all about being proud, serving your
community, sharing your faith...being the person you are supposed to
be..doing what you are sent here to do in this lifetime. The more we
help each other the less we need the government to create programs and
“take care of us” We are not a nation created for handouts and
gimme’s...we are a nation of doers, thinkers and living a full and
loving life. Time to return to this is something that I have been
saying for years and teaching others. Being who you were meant to be,
not expected by society to be...I was in tears at one point because this
was validation for me, for what I do, say and live. It set in my
spirit one more push to be doing what i do and sharing it fully with
others and helping them, so they in turn can help others.
We stayed long enough to hear the beginnings of Dr Aleva King speak and some singers, but, I was hot,
getting a massive headache and sad to say, but we knew what faced us
ahead if we waited til 1 p.m. to head back to the metro with the
hundreds of thousands of others..so we started back, talking and sharing
with others who had the same idea. There were folks who were overcome
by the heat as it did get hotter than the forecast. Emergency personnel
were on hand and these folks were taken care of.
Walking through the masses, listening to accents, finding out where people were from, and laughing about
things was a great way to pass the time, walking towards the metro
station. The love, peace and warmth that was shared that day was
amazing, simple and plain. I came away with a sense of purpose, peace
and understanding..There is a better way to live our lives..
There was no violence..no signs of hate or bitterness seen from the Washington Monument on..but of course
once we were back on the Mall, there were some small groups, but this is
to be expected..as Glen and others were practicing their right to free
speech, so were the others, and they were not violent or pushy either.
My only issue with this whole event was the Park Police..and
interestingly enough, it was the male officers on horseback that caused
the most disruption..yelling at people to move, blowing whistles..at
what always seemed to be a time when the speakers were in the middle of
their messages, as to interrupt, or to agitate the crowds to see if they
would fight back. This negativity made the horses react strongly I
witnessed, they were very skittish, nervous and fighting their riders.
The difference I noted was the female officers on horseback were calm,
peaceful as well as smiling and chatting being very nice and so their
horses were calm, and majestic. I could feel the difference in the
energy of these grand beasts and felt sorry for the ones with the
aggressive negative riders on them.
Overall, this experience was a blessing to myself and Mike, as well as the hundreds of thousands
attendees. Mike came away with a feeling he never expected and he’s
calmer...and I hope will be making positive changes to himself, so he
can be the Mike he is here to be. I know it made a difference in me.
I’ve been contemplating things, changes and choices. Being totally open
for this event put me over the top in feeling of energy, love and
warmth. Yes, I saw and heard things others probably didn’t..but being
an intuitive medium that happens even when you think it might not.
Now, I am in no way endorsing Mr Beck, Ms Palin...I’m not a huge fan.. i understand a bit more where Mr Beck
is coming from..and do so wish he would stop the personal attacks on
President Obama’s faith religion etc.. and he needs to step up and
restore more of his own Honor when it comes to some things in his
rhetoric. But his message was one of Wake Up, return to the Honor,
Faith and Charity this country was founded upon.. be true to that spirit
inside you.. follow your faith..funny how the man who isn’t an
Evangelist or Pastor..spoke of this, where Rev. Sharptons own
march/rally caused violence, spoke of racial division etc.. (yes Dr King
did as well in her message but it was brought out as a call to
correction, to better yourself..not in a we must fight to overcome that
which is rightfully ours)
As a Lightworker, one who helps others, is friendly and loving...i found this experience to be one I
never expected. Peaceful gathering of like minded people, others
interested in the message and yes some fans of the messenger..but the
day was not about Glen Beck, it was about FAITH, HOPE and
CHARITY...isn’t that what we are here to be, do and become...messengers
of love, light and being??
Maybe sometimes the message comes to those who need it from the messenger they least expect it from..so
please stay open, keep yourself free from hatred because you never
know....where the message will come from that will make you sit up, take
notice, take stock of your life..your purpose and path.
