I gave up coffee about a year ago. It was hard for the first three days, then it got easier. The coffee pot found a new home on the shelf in the laundry room, and I made hot tea for myself in the morning.
Until the coffee shop.
You know how girlfriends always like to “go out for coffee”? Well, my friends are no different in that aspect. I would drink hot tea, or iced tea with them and have no issue with it. That is, until the local coffee shop started making cafe mochas with whip creme into blended drink. Like all frozen and all, with a smidge of chocolate syrup on top? All the things that are sooo terrible for you…but taste sooo good.
I tried one, and said that it would only be ONE. Yeah, sure. It was nice, and all the creamy goodness that I remember. The next time, I got one hot, and I was hooked. That was all she wrote. My hubby moved the coffee pot back into the kitchen, and we started drinking coffee in the morning again.
I guess the good thing is that I am only getting 1- 1 1/2 cups a day vs. the 3-4 I was before. Except when I go to the coffee shop. I could consume several of those delicious concoctions without batting an eye. At the cost of nearly $4 a piece, though, it doesn’t happen that way.
And that’s a good thing…. Icould become a serious addict again and need to go to coffee drinkers anonymous…
