As a child, there was something very special about having a package delivered to our home - especially if that package was for me.  The image of a large delivery truck stopping in front of our home, the driver disappearing into the back and returning moments later with a package with my name on it or our home's address... would instantly have me holding my breath in anticipation. 

Would the package really be coming to our house?

Or would the drive turn and walk up the path to the neighbors home.

Inevitably, it sometimes went to the neighbors.  Sometimes it came to our home.

The steps through the grass and to our front door seemed to take an eternity. 

In all truthfulness, I'm still the same way now.

The neighbor who lives directly across the street has nearly as many packages delivered as I do.  When a delivery truck has made its way into our neighborhood - my kids and I both stop in eagerness to see where the truck stops.  Of course, I'm looking out of the corner of my eye and pretending I am not that interested. When in all actuality, I'm still that little girl waiting in anticipation of tearing up the package and digging out the bubble wrap.  Yet now I have to give that part up to the kids as well. 

There is always a sigh when the truck stops on our side of the street - yet the driver exits and takes the wonderful package to the house directly across from ours.  I sometimes wonder if she is also a product reviewing blogger and I have no idea.

The courier services that deliver to our home have grown accustom to our eagerness.  Well, the eagerness of the kids - I'm pretty good at acting as if it's just another day and no, I'm not waiting to pop the bubble wrap. 

However, as soon as the door is closed and the driver is making their way back to their truck - the kids and I are tearing into the package.  They quickly pull out all bubble wrap and disappear to their rooms where I can hear jumping, laughing and loud pops as the little pieces of air tight plastic pop open. 

When they have used popped every single air pocket, they return to see what else was in the {usually} brown box.  Sometimes it's an item that has been quickly hidden - as I order a lot of their gifts from online.  Most of the time, it's something they can help me test out and develop an opinion on. 

It's so much fun seeing their excitement in the entire process.  Without fail, as soon as daddy gets home or maybe a family member visits - they are showing off whatever was received and maybe even sharing any left over bubble wrap.
