My kids are not the pickiest eaters in the world but I still wish they would try new foods once in a while. It’s always a challenge to get them to try something different.
Recently my husband has been taking a proactive role in expanding the kids’ dietary choices.
About six months ago, the distinct aroma of sizzling bacon greeted me as I made my way down the stairs one Sunday morning. I gagged and felt my stomach turn. I can’t stand the smell of bacon. Especially first thing in the morning.
I wandered into the kitchen to find my three girls sitting, very civilly I might add, around the kitchen table. They were picking at freshly fried strands of crispy bacon. My husband, who was standing by the stove removing more bacon from the frying pan with a pair of tongs, had the distinct air of someone who was very proud of himself.
“I got the girls to try something new,” he smiled.
