If I remember correctly, and I'm basing this on the last 3 Octobers, many many mom bloggers share barrels of posts for Halloween.

Funny thing is I can barely find a few when I do a google search.

And when I asked mom blogger friends what kinda traffic their posts got, the answer was a resounding "EH".

What's crazy is Halloween is the perfect time to increase your readership.

There's no Christmas Rush stress that us moms endure. And if you can impress visitors during this time, then they are sure as heck coming back for Christmas. I have 14 blogs in my bookmarks that I found via a search looking for how to do something. I recently found a blogging dad in Toronto who makes dishes from my home country. Since I can't cook to save my life, and yet hubby still loves me, the recipes i grab from this guy is making hubby love me more. Men and their stomachs...

Anyways...

Halloween is the perfect time to show new visitors you got the goods and they should come back.

Especially if you're a mom blogger who features recipes, crafts or sewing.

Or even has these skills and doesn't mind sharing it on her blog.

Here's why.

A marketing friend mentioned I should offer a halloween sale on my blog, so I decided to play with the word Halloween while keyword researching (which lead to me asking around) and really i was shocked to see what I found.

homemade halloween costumes have a search volume of 135k/per month in the US.

desert recipes had 14k/per month in the US.

Guess what month that was? October 2011.

And the best thing girls? The competition for that term is wicked low and my fellow mom bloggers, your search engine optimized post could rank so easily in the google search engine results, and gain so many new visitors, it would feel like google was throwing candy at you.

Now I have no bloody cooking, crafting or sewing skills, so I'm sharing this info with you and I'm also looking for 4 guest posts, because frankly, I want candy too.

All I need is one post per week, and with my wicked search engine marketing skills and you're wicked DIY skills, we can rock. Of course you get full credit and a link back to your site and I expect your awesome post that gains new exposure to send you new visitors.

Now, if you're thinking "what she wants to use me to get traffic?" well, you're right. I know where I'm lacking. But you can do this for your own blog too. Check out the post I mention above, I outlines for those moms I polled, what I would do to rank if I had any skills.
