In Numbers 13, Moses had sent 12 men to spy out the land of Canaan. When the land had been spied out, they came back to everyone with the report.
Numbers 13:27 Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29
The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the
Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites
dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.” 30
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at
once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are32
And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which
they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as
spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. 33 There we saw the giants[d]
(the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like
grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight. stronger
than we.”
Joshua and Caleb had a right self image, Actually, they had a right God Image. They knew that nothing was impossible for God. They had a
vision, a dream, and they knew that the God would be faithful. They did
not see things for their natural circumstances, they saw the promise of
God which was this land, no matter what it looked like in the natural.
The other 10 did not see themselves in the same way. They saw with natural eyes and not spiritual eyes. Because of Joshua and Caleb’s
faith, they were able to enter the promised land, and the others ended
up dying in the desert.
God desires this for all of His children. In our head, we see ourselves a certain way, we see the imperfections, our short comings,
our fears, our failures. This is not how God sees us. He sees us as
Righteous, He gives us beauty for our ashes. We were created in Him
image. It’s time we women rise up and develop a faith filled God image
on the inside. It’s time that we recognize that NOTHING is impossible
for God no matter what the circumstances look like in the natural.
You may be struggling in certain areas of your life, but with God, nothing is impossible, you may be in need of a financial miracle, but
God says He will provide all your needs. You may have been diagnosed
with an illness, but He is already paid the price for your healing.
Everything that we need to live a successful life is laid out before
us. We can find all the promises in His Word, and we can hold onto them
for ourselves, and have faith that what God has said, He is able to
perform.
I leave you with this passage from The Message translation of the Bible.
If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when
you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought.
People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t
think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at
sea, keeping all your options open. – James 1:5-8
