I've come across articles that say that you should drink eight 8oz glasses of water a day, some that say a gallon of water a day but the truth is, there are a lot of factors to consider when you decide how much water to drink.  I know that I don't drink as much water as I should.  I do drink a fair amount but not enough.  Hydration is important for your mental, physical and emotional health.
