How to create a Grab My Button for your blog

Creating a button or banner is a great way to advertise your blog. You can use it on other blog sidebars, entrecard, and blog directories.

Thing to Know


~ A standard button is 125px x 125px
~ You will need an image hosting account such as Photobucket


Steps

~ Create your image.
If you are not able to do this, there are a lot of companies
online who offer this service for a small fee.
~ Upload your image to your image hosting {photobucket} account
~ Add a new HTML widget to your blog
~ Copy and paste the following code to your widget

Blogger Blogs

~ copy the html code from the button you want
~ open your blogger account and choose "layout"
~ click "add a gadget"
~ choose "html" and you'll get a blank box
~ paste the code you have copied in the box
~ click save


~ Open your blogger account and choose "layout"
~ Click "add a gadget"

~ Paste the code you have copied in the box
~ Change the information to your information
the url of the blog, the name of the blog,
and the link to your image. (You'll need to go back
to photobucket or wherever you saved your image
and get the direct link code.)
~ Click save

Wordpress Blogs

~ Go to your widget page
~ Select a "text" widget
~ Click edit
~ Paste your code
~ Click save

Thank you sooo much! I use Wordpress and to get it to work for me: from Photobucket I had to copy and use the "HTML code" as my "image URL" and not the "Image Code." This kinda confused me at first and I ended up with text, but no picture. I switched to the HTML choice from Photobucket and it worked like a charm! Hopefully this will help someone else :-)) I'm so glad you posted this!!!

My image is HUGE and I can't figure out how to resize it on my blog. It's the same file I've used to my avatar and other things...hmmmm
