Is there something about having a difficult name to pronounce that makes you especially funny? I was on a LiveChat with Lunch Lady graphic novel author Jarrett Krosoczka (dear god, your names are hard to spell!), and he was cracking me up. He's so funny!

And Jon Scieszka too, I gathered from this clip for The Children's Choice Book Awards, has a great sense of humor.

So, in jest I told Jarrett via the LiveChat that I might email him to get more names of funny children's book authors with difficult to spell and pronounce names.

And he shot back, "...if you need the list of difficult names, we have quarterly meetings throughout the year. :)"

Yep, he's funny and fast on his feet!

And so, thank you to Jarrett for supplying this post for me.

And dear readers, please make more suggestions of KidLit authors who write very funny books for kids and have extremely difficult names to spell and pronounce. I will be sure that they are invited to Jarrett's quarterly meetings.

 

p.s. He does a radio show on Sirius called The Book Report. I am sure he is highly entertaining and might even teach us to pronounce his name.

I would vote Jarrett Krosoczka the next hardest to pronounce only because I still haven't mastered his name. Some exciting news about Jarrett: there is a Lunch Lady movie in development with Amy Poehler to star as the lunch lady!!! He also has a second movie in development. I think it's the Monkey Boy one but I can't quite remember.
