What an amazing Mother’s Day!  Lone Star Daddy woke up at the crack of dawn with Brooklyn Boy and made my favorite breakfast (scrambled eggs, ham and toast) while I indulged in a luxurious lie-in.  Okay, maybe luxurious isn’t the right word when you consider the fact that I had a two-year-old crawling on top of my chest, putting his nose up to my nose and shouting, “Hey!!  Up, Mommy” every five minutes, but I DID stay in bed longer than normal.  The boys crafted me the perfect card (complete with Brooklyn Boy handprint).  After breakfast, we packed up the stroller and headed to the newly renovated JJ Byrne Playground.  My child had the time of his life!  We spent the entire morning exploring the park, came home for lunch, grabbed a nap and went back later in the afternoon.  The water play areas were of particular interest to my aqua kid and he came away from both visits completely drenched.  We noshed on burgers and homemade fries for dinner, put Brooklyn Boy to bed and enjoyed a wonderfully quiet evening at home.

It was a day spent playing, laughing and making memories with the loves of my life.  There is no greater gift.
