“Wow, what have I been doing all these years” is what I remember thinking not long after I began waddling through fitness and stumbled upon old pictures! I was overweight, living my life oblivious to the fact that I was eating unhealthy, fattening foods. I was eating fast food atleast two times a day, an unhealthy dinner, and dessert more times than not. And my pregnancies and the fun I had! I gained 100 pounds with my first child and 90 pounds with my second!
On December 25, 2011, I decided to go on a “diet”! What a day to start, with plenty of yummy, delicious foods that I had grown accustom to eating for so many years! I started out at 182 pounds. I’m 5’9 so I held my weight well, or so I thought! I began eating Lean Cuisines three times a day with small snacks between meals. The weight began to fall off. On February 2, 2012, I decided to bring out my inner Jersey Shore self and get a spray tan!! The lighting was horrible in that room and showed every imperfection I had (yes, I am blaming the poor lighting)! My newly tanned self immediately headed to the local gym and I haven’t looked back since! After about two months of working out at the gym, I realized Lean Cuisines weren’t going to cut it and sought help from a personal trainer. I stopped the Lean Cuisines and began eating more unprocessed foods. Out with the diet mantra, and in came the lifestyle change! Joining the gym was the best decision I have ever made. I never would have imagined that I would grow to love fitness as much as I do now. Did I really just say that?? Yes, I did! My determination and pure joy for fitness have left me 50 pounds lighter, 6 pant sizes smaller, and feeling better than I could have dreamed possible. While I have lost all the scale weight I need, I am currently working on reshaping my body and the chaotic mess bad eating and a sedentary lifestyle left me with. My family has been extremely supportive of my decision to get fit, especially my husband! He gladly watches the kiddos while I work on my fitness and has never had a negative word to say! For that, I am eternally grateful to him! I decided to start this blog to document my fitness and health journey so that maybe I can inspire and motivate others who are struggling with the same things I have and am currently having. If I can do it, so can you!
