Good advice!  I've been blogging now for almost a year - I've had websites almost as long as you (1998!!!!) and even though my blog is plastered with ads, it doesn't mean I'm making loads of money like my family and friends seem to think is possible.  I have successfully been able to break even - my ads have paid for hosting, a new design, and paying for some images from iStock Photo.  I think that's pretty darn good.  However, I do plan to turn this into a living.  I have been discovering that I need to really put my neck out there.  I have started by updating my LinkedIn profile and then I'm going to work from there.  Reading this post helped me to realize I'm on the right track.  Thanks, Tiffany!  I hope to see you Bloggy Con '12! ;)  Liz

I launched my blog the beginning of November. I've already had a request for a radio interview ( I did it already), A guest post, featured post, and was offered and accepted a paid blogging gig.  I"m not saying this to brag at all, but I think that really the the sky is not the limit because there is NO limit with bloggers and social media.

 Just keep blogging and adding great content.  Make sure your blog is not too cluttered so that people don't come and want to leave right away ( like walking in a messy house) and you'll find some great opportunities.  BTW I didn't look for any of those.  Oh except I did see the guest post request on one of my linkedin and I told her what I had in mind and she loved the idea.  So you can always look there or here I've seen requests for that too :)  

I just like to think of Dori on Nemo but instead of " just keep swimming just keep swimming" it's " just keep blogging just keep blogging"
