It's Sunday, and my nieces and daughter are buried under layers of quilts on my living room floor. They are watching television and drifting in and out a sleep.  Do you remember how much fun sleepovers were when you were a child?  I loved them. I also loved when I got to have breakfast at my friend's houses.  It's so intriguing how different family's have different breakfast staples.
Today, as I was spreading the icing on the piping hot, fresh-from-the-oven cinnamon rolls, my youngest niece came in sniffing the air like a bloodhound. She stood next to me, watching the white, gooey, icing melt down the sides of the hot, cinnamon filled rolls and dropped a bomb on me: She has never eaten a cinnamon roll!
She's 7!
Without saying a word, I spread a little extra icing on the biggest cinnamon roll in the dish, placed it on a tiny plate, and handed it over to her.  Then, I sat back and watched the magic happen.
First, she tentatively used her finger to swipe some of the icing off the side of her plate.  Her eyes lit up as she licked her finger clean, took her fork, and dug into the warm, gooey  roll.  Before I knew it, the roll had cooled off enough for her to pick up, she had pushed her fork to the side and was eating her very first cinnamon roll with such enjoyment that it made my heart melt like icing on a hot bun.
This is what sleepovers and Sunday mornings are made for.
