There are those people in your life that are such a positive influence or that you are just drawn to for whatever reason it may be. I love those people! One particular person that is special to me is on my mind today for some reason.

This person is a co-work who has really taken me under her wing and taught me how to fly on my own. When I began working in the field that I am in I knew nothing. Literally, nothing! I had worked for the company in a separate department for three years before being offered a new position. I had a complete misconception of what the department was even about. This particular co-work has taught me many things that have helped me in my career. I can say with great certainty that I would not be where I am today had it not been for her. She has the practical experience in the field of which we work. I wish she would write a book because I would read it over and over. Every single time we get together I learn something new; she is such a knowledgeable person. She is more than a co-work to me. She’s a dear friend, a second mother, a mentor and much more. She is one of those ladies who has an infectious spirit, a laugh that is contagious and a smile that is never ending. When she is around you cannot help but to enjoy yourself. She is a lady who has had her share of troubling times, but always sees the positive in every situation. I am so very thankful to have her in my life.

Today, I encourage you to thank those special people in your life. Tell them how they have helped you along the way. Let them know how important they are to you. Acknowledge their graciousness. Today I will pick up the phone, dial her number and tell her how much she matters.
