Blog Dare Instructions

We’ve received several emails with questions on how to participate in The Blog Dare. We want writing prompts for The Blog Dare to always lead back to who the individual writer is. Each author will have a different view and reaction to a given set of words and prompts… so our hope is that this Blog Dare cultivates a more unique blog for everyone.
The first rule of The Blog Dare – There are no rules.
When you sit with pen and paper, notebook or laptop – the story should flow and carve its own path.
The prompts provided by The Blog Dare are to help you find your voice and better tell us your story. In essence, you are the only one who can decide how the prompts will be used.
Our Tips for You!
Tip 1: Browse all prompts from current to past years and choose one that is speaking to you. Choose one that draws you in and whispers for you to tell that story.
Tip 2: Don’t force yourself to write a blog post. Do force yourself to scribble on paper until an idea grabs you. The writing prompt may jolt your memory of another situation or moment in life – go with it!
When you have written a post based on a Blog Dare writing prompt – visit the group and share that post with us! We want to see how you have made the prompt different than we could have.
