Three Ways to Catch a Cheating Spouse

Cheating in a relationship is unfortunately commonplace. No matter how great your relationship was when it first started, there’s always the chance that your spouse could go astray. In fact, statistics show that somebody who’s cheated in the past is three times more likely to cheat again, compared with somebody who’s always been faithful to their significant other. Suspecting that you are being cheated on with no evidence to prove it is never a nice situation to be in. Here’s what you can do to get the closure that you need.

#1. Talk to Them:

Before resorting to any other techniques, the best course of action is to simply talk to your spouse and try to find out directly from them what they have been up to. Some people will want to admit their wrongdoing but simply don’t know where to start; asking them directly will prompt them to confess. Then, it’s down to you which steps you want to take next for your relationship; is it worth salvaging or are you ready to move on?

On the other hand, sometimes, you’re just going to be met with lies. So, don’t expect everything that your spouse says to be the truth if you speak to them. Remember that if they have indeed cheated, they are already caught up in a web of lies and deceit. If you suspect they are being untruthful, try another method of getting the truth.

#2. Watch for Changes in Behavior:

Some behavioral changes will have a completely innocent explanation, but in some cases, it can be a sure sign that your spouse is cheating on you. Common changes that occur when somebody is having an affair include weight loss or gain, becoming colder and distant, becoming hostile towards you, or refusing to talk about the future.

Some cheaters will change their interests in clothing and appearance and may be less interested in sex and everyday affections. Others will become even more affectionate towards you and want more sex than usual, making it even more confusing. It’s not uncommon for cheating spouses to have a hidden, second phone for their infidelities, so look out for any signs of secret second phone activity. Of course, all of these could have a reasonable explanation, so try to avoid jumping to conclusions without evidence.

#2. Use a Private Investigator:

Cheating statistics show that at least 10% of affairs start online, and another 36% of cheaters are having an affair with a co-worker. You might think that it’s easy to find out what you need by looking at your partner’s personal computer or smartphone, placing covert video cameras in their home or car, or installing spyware on their phone. But, while all these methods might get you the answers that you need, they violate privacy laws and could land you in trouble.

Instead, go with a reputable private investigator who understands privacy laws and can help you safely and legally monitor your spouse to discover whether or not they are indeed having an affair.

Suspecting that your partner is cheating is never a nice situation to be in. Look out for the common signs and get the right help to find the evidence that you need to catch them out.
